On any HP cone crusher, the frame rarely fails — the liners do. The mantle and bowl liner are the only parts that actually touch the rock, which is exactly why they're also the only parts you'll replace on a fixed schedule. 1. Mantle & Bowl Liner — the core wear pair

Why it matters: These two parts decide your product size and shape. The mantle gyrates inside the stationary bowl liner, and the rock is squeezed and fractured in the narrowing gap between them. DMAC machines every mantle and bowl liner to the original HP cavity profile, so they drop straight into the crusher without field machining or shimming. A correct seat means even wear and full liner life — not a premature crack at the thread because the fit was "close enough."

2. Material built for your rock — Mn18Cr2 and Mn22Cr2

Why it's popular: Manganese work-hardens under impact, which is what gives crusher liners their life. We cast standard liners in Mn13Cr2, Mn18Cr2, and Mn22Cr2. For abrasive granite, basalt, or river gravel, the higher manganese content with added chrome resists the gouging wear that eats cheap liners in weeks. For cleaner limestone or recycled concrete, an Mn13 grade gives you the life you need at a lower cost. We recommend the grade from your actual feed, not a catalog default — stepping up to Mn22Cr2 only pays off when the abrasion truly calls for it.

3. Cavity profile that matches the job — C / M / F / EF

Why it's popular: The same HP crusher produces very different output depending on the cavity. Coarse (C) and medium (M) profiles push volume for ballast and road base; fine (F) and extra-fine (EF) profiles tighten the product for manufactured sand and concrete aggregate. There's a direct trade: a coarser cavity moves more tons but yields a coarser product, while a finer cavity improves shape at lower throughput. DMAC stocks and casts across these profiles, so you tune the crusher to the order book instead of the other way around.

4. Ceramic-insert liners for the toughest feeds

Why customers ask for it: When the rock is both hard and highly abrasive, standard manganese alone wears unevenly and the cost per ton climbs. Our composite liners embed ceramic inserts in the high-wear zones, holding the profile longer on the worst feeds while keeping the OEM fit. It's the option we reach for when a client is changing liners more often than they'd like — the higher piece price is usually paid back in fewer changeouts and steadier output.

The invoice price is the smallest number in the equation. What matters is cost per ton — liner price divided by tons produced. A liner 30% dearer that runs 60% longer is cheaper per ton and means fewer stops. A liner that holds its profile also keeps product shape consistent, and in concrete aggregate, shape is what lets you charge a premium rather than compete on price alone.

Getting the Most Life Out of an HP Liner

A good liner only pays off if it's run correctly. Keep the crusher choke-fed so the rock bed does the work, not the steel. Hold the closed-side setting where it belongs, and don't run liners past the safe limit — a bowl liner worn too thin can burn the bronze and turn a changeout into a major repair. Track tons per set and record the wear pattern; you'll soon see whether grade or profile needs changing.
